Tectonic Impressions explores the physical weight, raw geology, and subterranean tension of mindscapes carved directly onto canvas. The process begins with raw, uninhibited color fields that establish an underlying emotional landscape. Using palette knives as tools of excavation, I carve, layer, and push dense, unthinned acrylic across the surface like shifting continental plates. By contrasting these heavy, sculpted impasto structures with deep, carved channels and atmospheric washes, each piece captures the exact moment where internal chaos settles into a permanent, grounded structure. My process for In the Midst of Chaos unfolds in distinct, intentional phases—a journey from spontaneous fluid movement to deliberate structure. It begins in Phase 1 with raw, controlled chaos: fluid acrylics, uninhibited color washes, and organic spills allowed to run naturally across the surface. Once dried, Phase 2 introduces structural depth. Using fine-line brushes and heavy palette knife work, I carve out forms and introduce deep darks to anchor the atmospheric background. In the final phase, these contrasting layers reconcile—balancing the unpredictable, energetic base with sculpted, tectonic marks until a harmonious mindscape emerges. Through my signature approach of Layers of Impulse, the work transforms true chaos into order, creating a surreal mindscape born entirely from within.

My process for Solitary Spark explores the quiet moment where a single idea or emotion ignites within an expansive internal landscape. It begins with broad, atmospheric fields of color, creating a deep, contemplative background.
